Her version of the spiral seems more accurate to me. If you review your history carefully, you will likely see it in your life as well. The spiral looks lopsided. I refer to it as the Asymmetrical Life Spiral. I’m not sure if it has a real name in the psychology world, but this is what I came up with. The spiral goes down on one side and up on the other. This illustration is a good visual for these ideas.
Something happens that shakes up our world, leaving us feeling like things are slipping. If we have the ability to be resilient and bounce back quickly, we end up on the other side, having experienced growth and gained a new perspective. For others, this process may take years.
Life is always offering us something to grow through, to overcome, and to grow into. It is up to us to make the decisions to do so. After all, the small decisions we make every day shape the direction of our lives and ultimately determine our destiny.
Whatever it is, we can step back and look at what is happening. We can decide that something can be changed, and we can be the ones to change it. Or we can just change the way we look at it.
You guys may already know I LOVE Psych-K® for this kind of work. If you don’t already know, Psych-K® is a psychological modality for changing limiting beliefs, behaviors, and conditions of the body. To learn more, go HERE.
We have more power than we give ourselves credit for.
Since the evening that I learned about the Assymetrical Life Spiral I know that all I have to do is focus on what I want and where I am going. I make the decision to get into alignment with those things and start making small shifts to bring them into my life.
This simple act changes our trajectory and therefore our life. Don’t underestimate the power of small decisions. They can lead to some very big changes.
Make a new decision today.
Be well,
Jennifer
